About

I'm Tim Kadlec. I'm a product manager at Cloudflare, where I work on observability and performance. Before that, I spent years as an independent web performance consultant, helping organizations of all shapes and sizes improve the speed, reach and effectiveness of their sites.

I believe deeply that the web should be fast, accessible, and available to everyone, and that people are more important than machines.

I've got a wonderful family. Gardening is one of my favorite things to do, and I coach youth basketball which is easily the most fun thing I've done as a grown-up.

I'm the author of High Performance Images (O'Reilly, 2016) and Implementing Responsive Design (New Riders, 2012). I also contributed to Smashing Book #4 (Smashing Magazine, 2013) and Web Performance Daybook Volume 2 (O'Reilly, 2012).
